Awards & Associations

Dr Kruger holds himself to high standards and to this end has been recognized in academic spheres.

As a medical student at the University of Cape Town, he was awarded an academic entrance scholarship for three years for academic merit. In 2005 he was awarded a prestigious Rhodes Scholarship, which he used to further his orthopaedic education, reading for both taught and research Masters’ degrees. He graduated as top of his class and with first class honours at Oxford.

In his orthopaedic residency at the University of Cape Town, he achieved first class honours in both his research Master’s and his final examination. He was also awarded the prestigious JM Edelstein Medal as the top orthopaedic candidate in South Africa for 2018.

He is a member of the South African Society for Surgery to the Hand and a member of the South African Orthopaedic Association, both of which hold annual congresses at which he presents.
